About NEOWA The New England Outdoor Writers Association NEOWA was established in 1942 by dedicated outdoor writers, concerned about natural resources, conservation and our outdoor heritage. NEOWA is the oldest regional outdoor writers organization in America. NEOWA is a non-profit, professional and educational organization, and our membership includes most of the top names in the outdoor communication industry. Each year we award conservation scholarships to one student from each of the six New England state universities. The Purpose of NEOWA The New England Outdoor Writers Association, Inc. encourages excellence and professionalism within the communication media, covering a wide range of outdoor topics. NEOWA promotes good sportsmanship, wise conservation practices and prudent use of our natural resources. Membership benefits include craft improvement workshops, outdoor product discounts, loaner and field testing and article and assistance with article and photo placement. Our year 2007 annual conference will be held February, 2007 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Worcester MA. Our spring outing location has yet to be determined but is always held over a long weekend in late May or early June. The event will feature a prime location for all forms of outdoor recreation.
